Nigerian Singer, Barry Jhay Arrested As SUSPECT Following Tragic Death Of His Record Label’s Boss (VIDEO)
In what comes as quite disturbing news, Nigerian singer, Oluwakayode Junior Balogun, popularly known as Barry Jhay has been arrested in connection with the death of his Nigerian record label boss, Oyerinde Abiodun aka Kashy Godson.
Kashy reportedly committed suicide yesterday, March 7, 2021, in neighbouring West African country, Ghana.
While some alleged that he jumped from his house balcony after battling depression for a long time, others alleged he was pushed off the building by someone he had a business transaction with.
According to reports, Kashy was allegedly involved in a brawl with his label signee, Barry Jhay just before the ugly incident occurred.
“Barry Jhay and Karshy had a fight in Ghana over accounts and other label-related issues in Ghana. When the argument got heated, Karshy punched Barry Jhay in the mouth.” Pulse reports a source to have said
In a video that has since gone viral, Barry Jhay is seen with a bloodied mouth as he revealed bitterly that he was beaten to that state by his label boss, Kashy.
“See the way this guy beat me,” he said in Pidgin English. “I didn’t do anything, I was recording. I’m done with Kash Nation,” he also said.
Not long after the video went viral, the shocking news of Kashy’s death was announced. As such, Barry Jhay was summarily picked up as he is believed to have a hand in Kashy’s death.
An unidentified man named Rina has also come out to accuse Barry Jhay of masterminding Kashy’s demise. In screenshots of his leaked WhatsApp story, he opened up on Kashy’s benevolence to Barry Jhay.
According to him, Kashy had given Barry Jhay his Benz worth a whopping N9 Million alongside a N15M wristwatch.
He wrote; “My brother gave you his Benz worth nine million naira. He gave you his Hublot worth 15 million Naira. You’re dead, Barry Jhay.”
On another slide, he also wrote that, “He was putting on his shoes and some blogs and idiots are saying that he committed suicide. My brother was killed!”
The third slide of his post further stated that members of a confraternity, to which Barry Jhay belongs killed Godson while another slide claims that the fear of military police made Godson jump.
28-year-old Barry Jhay is the son of late Fuji legend, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister. He rose to prominence following the release of his 2018 hit single, ‘Aye’.
In 2019, he was named Rookie of The Year at the Headies.
Kashy Godson launched his CashNation Entertainment with Barry Jhay as his frontline artist. Not much was known about the late record label boss before he hit headlines in June 2020 after he was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of cybercrime.
The anti-crime unit in a statement accused the label owner of using proceeds of his fraudulent activities to fund his lavish lifestyle.

“Abiodun, who is the owner of CashNation Ent. Ltd., a music record label, was arrested recently at his residence in Lekki Conservative Estate, Lagos. His arrest followed intelligence gathered overtime about his suspicious lifestyle. 2/
“Abiodun, who shuttles between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, UAE, allegedly used the proceeds of his fraudulent activities to fund his lavish lifestyle. 3/
“Investigations linked his fraudulent activities to his domestic staff, Thomas Aliu Akwu, who confessed to having different accounts domiciled in UBA, Ecobank, GTB, Zenith Bank and FCMB and also receiving money for his boss through the accounts. 4/
“Items recovered from the suspect at the point of arrest include a white 2013 Bentley Continental and Mercedes Benz GLK 350. The suspect will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. End.”
